Every time I am updating my blogs, I never forget to have my dictionary with me for sometimes I am not familiar with the words I am using, I automatically check of the meaning. I sometimes use word/words that I read before and thought of using it to give some variety to my article. This is also to make sure I am using the word/s correctly. Yes, I promised to use only simple English words, however, sometimes I feel like using other terms to make it sound nice. It is also good to use other words for it widens my vocabulary. I used to be a bookworm, but when this new technology surfaces, I seldom open or read books. My bad. 🙁
When I saw an application of Merriam-Webster Dictionary, I downloaded it without second thought. It really helps me a lot especially when I am out and feel like writing while waiting for someone, I can search for the meaning of the word/s using my phone or tablet. I am really glad that this app is invented. My niece saw me searching for the meaning of the word she asked me once and thought of downloading it to her phone. Instead of bringing the heavy two volume dictionary that we have, it is best to have it on her phone. Not heavy and she can search the meaning of the word easily and fast. Technology these days really helps in our daily life. Sad that we are dependent with the technology but happy for it makes our work easy and fast. Still thankful of this development but let us not forget the old ways.
Stranded! Yes, we are stranded at the port of Cagayan de Oro because the tickets for Bohol are fully booked. We cannot get any ticket even a chance passenger ticket. We we’re stranded for eight hours and it was like days of being there looking at the horizon and do not know what are we going to do. There is a way though to reach Bohol but via Cebu. Long route and it will cost us. But I’d rather get it than stay stranded.right? The vessel going to Cebu will leave at 7 in the evening. We have to wait for eight hours doing nothing at the port. Times like that, I really appreciate the importance of my gadgets.
While waiting for the boarding time, I played games on my tablet while my father playing games on my cellphone/mobile phone. It eases our boredom indeed. The problem is that the gadgets are running out of battery. We have to recharge it so we can receive message and calls from our family back home especially my older sister who is monitoring about his son who is with us. My tablet and phone are battery empty. Good thing my father’s vintage phone has enough battery, they can contact us still. Times like this, I do not regret buying those gadgets. They are my investments from the online job I earned.
Indeed that when something is taken away from you, it will replaced with something better. I say it so because my new phone is better than the lost one. I was so sad when my phone was stolen. But now I am fine because the kind of phone I have right now gives me many reasons to smile. Aside from the cute look and the wide screen, the features of my new phone rocks. It has several of features that will makes you fall in love with this phone. I am still sad though for the lost one because it is the fruit of my online labor, but there is nothing more I can do to bring it back.
My sister told me that I should be happy that my phone is lost because my phone now is so beautiful. To me it is the unit that counts, what counts to me is the effort and time to save to buy something from our money that earns in a very hard way. I just charged it to experience and enjoying my new phone because I so love the features of it. I will take good care of this phone because it is my father who bought this phone.
